The optical transceiver is used for the transmission of optical signals, and the transmission medium is usually optical fiber. The optical fiber transmission mode has low loss and can meet long-distance transmission, and offers strong advantages in long-distance transmission.

H3C tools supports a number of optical transceivers with different specifications. Users can choose the appropriate optical transceiver according with their needs and transmit data through optical fibers. Common types are: QSFP28, CFP, CFP2, CXP, QSFP+, SFP28, SFP+ and SFP, etc. The optical transceivers supported by H3C equipment mainly supply the following degrees of transmission rates: 100Gbps, 40Gbps, 25Gbps, 10Gbps, 8Gbps, 4Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 2Gbps, 1Gbps, 622Mbps, 155Mbps, 100Mbps.

The transmission distance of the optical transceiver is split into short distance and long distance. In most cases, 2km and here are short distances, and 10km are long distances. At the moment, there are mainly three types of central wavelengths of commonly used optical transceivers: 850nm waveband, 1310nm waveband and 1550nm waveband. 850nm band: mostly used for short-distance transmission; 1310nm and 1550nm bands: mostly used for medium and long-distance transmission.
