How to Maintain SFP Optical Module
SFP optical module contains many precise optical components and circuit components, we need to operate in accordance with the specifications, otherwise it is easy to cause damage to the optical module. We will introduce several methods of daily maintenance of optical modules for you.
First, ESD protection should be kept in mind
We must a good job of electrostatic protection (e.g. wearing anti-static gloves and anti-static bracelets to prevent electrostatic damage), try to contact the light module shell, instead of the contact light module PIN foot;
Maintain the humidity of the light module at 30-75% RH.
It is strictly forbidden to carry out live plug-and-pull operation on non-hot plug-in equipment.
Secondly, the protection of smooth port should be paid attention to.
Be sure to keep the end of the optical fiber connector clean.
Optical module light outlet avoids long exposure. When not in use, cover the light plug. When not in use, the light plug is stored in a dustproof clean place to avoid pollution.
Optical fiber connectors should be inserted horizontally to avoid scratching the end or sleeve. The golden finger should be pointed down and the positive and negative sides should not be reversed.
Select the optical fiber connector that meets the access standard.
Third, the correct use of SFP optical module
Avoid exposing the golden finger of light module for a long time, develop the habit of using dust cap, and prevent the damage caused by exposing the glossy mouth for a long time.
